Marc Simoncini
Marc Simoncini is one of the leaders of the French New Economy.
In 1998, he launched the i(France) network in France, a CtoC web portal. The website was destined to provide users with tools such as free emails, personal website hosting, agendas, etc..). Marc sold i(France) to Vivendi Universal in April 2000, and then set off on a totally new adventure by founding Meetic at the end of 2001.
Meetic.com quickly became a real web phenomenon in France. 10 years after its commercial launch, Meetic has established itself as the European leader in online dating and as early as 2005 Meetic was listed on the Paris Euronext stock exchange. In 2011, Meetic was sold to the American world leader Match.com / IAC.
During the last 10 years, Marc has also invested in several companies such as 1000Mercis and Winamax, as a private business angel. In 2010, he launched his own venture fund, Jaïna Capital, in order to help new talented entrepreneurs to succeed. As for now, Jaina has been accompaniing about 30 companies to grow in different fields: from Optical activity (SENSEE and Ophta point vision) to snow groomers (AZTEC) or furnitures (MADE.com) to Internet platforms to help people in their everyday lives.
