Yann Heurtaux

Yann learned everything during the former century, thanks to MMORPGs communities. His avatar of choice has always been a Chaotic Good Dwarf Tank.
Lausanne-based (Western, French-speaking part of Switzerland, Europe) for the last 3 years, Yann has been co-building Hackuarium.ch, the first swiss bio-hacking citizen and open lab’s community. Hackuarium members can leverage the rich academic and industrial life sciences local ecosystem, and the hard work of previous local biohackers, mainly the Hackteria.org members, to champion DIY and collaboration (Do It With Others) values applied to Biology and other sciences.
Another challenge for Yann: make sure UniverCity, the open source third-space that has been hosting Hackuarium’s activities and many other projects (such as a coworking space, a makerspace in progress…), find a way to stay open for the long run, and to make a name for itself and have an impact localy and beyond.
